The Bremerton Montessori Parent Association Creatures of the Sea float won top honors at the Armed Forces Day Parade!
The BMPA paid transportation costs for the Montessori field trip to the Tacoma Art Museum to see the Eric Carle exhibit. In addition to funding the field trip, the BMPA also sponsored in-class art lessons to give children the chance to experience Eric’s technique first hand.
Have a question about meetings or upcoming events, see the 2013-2014 BMPA calendar. This is a draft, but it should be pretty accurate. Note that public BMPA meetings are moving to the the 4th Monday of each month with a couple exceptions as noted.
Come join us for food and fun! This is a potluck event. The main course and beverage will be provided by the BMPA. Meet fellow parents and enjoy the summer. This rummage sale is an important fund raiser for the BMPA. Stop by and get some cool stuff. If you have items you want to get rid of, bring them to our picnic on the 8th, or send and email to info@BremertonMontessor.org. Drop off items by June 14th.

As you know, the West Hills S.T.E.M. Academy is adding on to the school. You can find out more information about the addition on the West Hills website.
|It is likely that the current playground equipment (in blue) will be lost when the new addition is built. Though the new addition is amazing, this is an unfortunate outcome and the BMPA would like to help. The BMPA is investigating possible sources of funding for replacement equipment after the addition is complete.|
Others in the community are already investigating options as well. We are happy to hear your ideas regarding this project, so feel free to contact us at info@BremertonMontessor.org.
Recently a rain garden was created in the field behind West Hills S.T.E.M. Academy. There is an opportunity this summer for the BMPA to build a park bench in this area. We already have a couple ideas and it would be a great project for the kids. A member has offered to donate a large number of seashells for us in an art project and they would be ideal for this project. The BMPA is currently considering taking on this project. Possibly as part of a summer art day camp (below).
The BMPA is currently assessing interest levels in a 2013 Summer Art Day Camp. Possibly to build a public park bench as mentioned above. If you are interested in this, please let us know. Send an email to President@BremertonMontessori.org or Info@BremertonMontessori.org, and let us know. We need around 10 – 12 children to participate. The cost will be between $25 to $40 dollars depending upon the project selected.
The Montessori program classrooms are located at the West Hills Stem Academy Annex. Then entrance for drop-off and pick-up for the annex is off W Loxie Eagans Blvd.
